You have to love the big financial institutions; not content with taking the world to the brink of financial ruin, they seem top have no qualms in squeezing their pound of flesh for their failings. The financial institutions that serve the UK are no different, they expect the long-suffering people of the Britain to bail them out with exhorbentent interest rates for loans and the like when in reverse they are offering nothing for savers.

For example you’ll see with the example ad from Nationwide Building Society, the cheeky buggers want to charge anyone who is lucky enough to get a loan a 7.2% interest rate. Given the Bank of England have held interest rates at 0.5% for a record time, you have to say the banks and other financial institutions are filling their boots at our expense.

I know we all have to make a buck, but surely we are being continually punished by financial institutions for their failings over the years.

There are a lot of people that need financial help; there s a good post on: http://creditschase.com/i-have-a-huge-credit-card-debt-and-im-having-trouble-paying-them-off-monthly.html

So, I have to take a day off work because some posh person and his posh bird are getting married, how does that work?

Here’s the thing, I don’t want a day off in late April, I would rather have it in July, when it is warmer and I can have a three day weekend during the Summer. (Yes, I know the April gig is a 4-day holiday)

You may have guessed I am not into the Royal Family, don’t forget, we are their subjects, so how does it make you feel knowing you have been given permission to enjoy yourself from your rulers? Personally, I think this is a load of bollards. I heard the extra bank holiday was given to us, to sweeten us against the deep cuts, well that’s great compensation for thousands of people losing their jobs!

April 29th is National Games Console Day

So, given the fact I will be not participating in this non-event now I designate this day ‘National Games Console Day’. I for one would rather spend my ‘day-off’ hooked into my PS3 rather than watching the Mr & Mrs Toff going down the aisle. Look, I am not being miserable for the sake of it. I simply fail to see why I should have to miss-out on a work day because some toff is getting married. Look at the farce of his Father, do we all remember that Royal Wedding? Oh yes, the late Princess Diana was playing second fiddle to a pantomime horse, and it would not be a surprise if history was to repeat itself.

So the countdown has started to a Royal Wedding that is supposed to make me happy – hmm, FAIL. Now what big PS3 game releases are due for 29th April 2011?

I am going to take few days off to go and look at few hotels in Devon to relax and play PS3 but I better not play too much otherwise I will require laser eye surgery.

Andrew Neil (Fantastic political commentator) puts killer John Hirst in his place in a great piece of TV. Unfortunately, you will have to visit the BBC site to view this, becase the TV service that you and I fund will now allow free access to clips on You Tube, another farce!

This is obviously not good news for the children who will no doubt suffer as a result of the cuts. This is a really interesting item which highlights where the system has gone wrong previously.

There are many executives that do not earn £95k a year, but in times past if you had multiple children and no job it was/is possible to have the equivalent of a very good pay packet – SHOCKING

Is it any wonder people do not respect the Police? I have just given way to a police car in Worthing and I received no thanks from the public servant driving the car.

In fact I am not even sure the police officer even realised I was letting him through such was the conversation he was having with his colleague.

I’d rather be a street cleaner than a policeman, at least people in this profession don’t take their status for granted.

I know there are some good policeman and women, but there are others in the profession that are nothing more than dullards. Not thanking a fellow motorist for not letting them pass is nothing more than supreme arrogance.

Actually the title is a bit of a lie; it is not just an extra holiday for SEO’s in 2012, the whole population is getting an extra day’s holiday as a celebration of the Queen’s 60 years as Head of State.

Hooray, Extra Holidays for SEO’s

The good news is, the extra day the Government are giving us is being merged with the late May Bank Holiday and will be turned into a four day holiday in early June, FANTASTIC!

The only beef I have with this, is why do we have to wait until 2012? We are the poor relations in Europe when it comes to Bank Holidays and it is high time we were given another day by the state year in year out and not just in 2012.

European Bank Holidays

UK – 8 days a year

France – 10 days a year

Germany – Ave 9 days a year

Greece – Average 10 days a year

Day Off Countdown

The countdown starts here to your additional day off in 2012 – At the time of writing that is only 517* days to wait! The sad thing is, the government are not really giving us an extra day at all, as 2012 is a Leap Year and subsequently we have an extra day bestowed upon us.

So for anyone thinking they are getting an extra day off courtesy of celebrating the Queen’s reign, forget it, what we get given, gets taken away!
